Welcome to Palette Cosmetology Academy, founded by Hans Van Doornik, a passionate and experienced hair artist. The academy is a haven for aspiring hair stylists and cosmetologists who want to unleash their creativity and make a difference in the world.
Hans' journey began in the bustling streets of New York City, where he apprenticed under some of the industry's top hairdressers. Working alongside them, he graced runways and fashion campaigns for renowned names in the industry, including Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Rick Owens, Tom Ford, Khaite, and Naeem Khan, honing his skills and gaining invaluable insights into the world of hair styling.
Eager to expand his repertoire, Hans moved to Los Angeles and became the apprentice of celebrity hair stylist Teddy Charles. There, he sharpened his editorial skills and worked on countless photoshoots with A-list celebrities, including Kendall Jenner, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Gal Gadot, Jane Fonda, Cindy Crawford, and Fergie, among others.
Hans' talents took him further as he contributed to the Emmy Award-winning HBO show Westworld, where he cut and styled the hair of actresses Evan Rachel Wood, Tessa Thompson, and Katja Herbers. He also made his mark at the renowned Kim Vo Salon in Beverly Hills, providing exceptional service to clients seeking the epitome of hairstyling excellence.

Hans Van Doornik, a West Michigan native with an insatiable love for hair and fashion, brings his extensive experience and expertise back home to teach hands-on classes at our academy, conveniently located in Douglas, Michigan.
